Youth Leadership Institute

The UPROSE Youth Leadership Institute will train 15 NYC Youth of Color on facilitation skills, teach Climate and Environmental Justice truths, review the solutions that are based within the Just Transition model, and describe how to implement what one learns from their own communities into their own activism. Students will exercise and develop their skills in order to movement-build within the Climate Justice fight. Along with UPROSE organizers and guest speakers, through a virtual platform, the Youth Leaders in training will engage in a learning environment that aims to introduce UPROSE's history, purpose, current campaigns, and the principles that we hold ourselves to in grassroots activism.

We hope to engage with BIYOC who are motivated and dedicated individuals who want to become part of a leader-full community, organizing around climate injustices. Being apart of a movement means there is not just one leader at the front. Being part of a leaderfull movement means we can all claim our space as leaders and lead collectively.
